Roe 2 Fire Reaches 60% Containment in Beaverhead County

BEAVERHEAD COUNTY, Mont. — The Roe 2 Fire burning east of Clark Canyon Reservoir has reached 60% containment, according to the latest fire update.


The lightning-caused wildfire began at approximately 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. It has burned an estimated 983 acres.



Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation crews remained at the fire throughout the weekend. Firefighters checked the area for remaining hot spots and worked to rehabilitate dozer lines constructed during containment efforts.


DNRC resources will continue monitoring and working on the Roe 2 Fire until it reaches 100% containment.
