Icy Roads Create Dangerous Driving Conditions
The crash occurred Monday morning following an early-season snowstorm that moved through Southwest Montana on Sunday, leaving many highways icy and slippery.
Emergency responders are reminding drivers to take additional precautions when traveling in winter conditions.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down, increase following distances and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Sudden braking and sharp turns should be avoided, especially on ice-covered roadways.
Bridges, overpasses and shaded stretches of highway can be particularly hazardous when temperatures drop.
Drivers are also reminded to buckle up and remain alert for changing road conditions.
The cause of the rollover has not been confirmed.
For current road conditions, travelers can check the Montana Department of Transportation's 511 Traveler Information system.
