BOZEMAN – Two fishing access sites are facing partial or full closures due to ice jams, flooding and unsafe access conditions for visitors.

Valley Garden Fishing Access Site on the Madison River near Ennis is fully closed due to a large ice jam on the river, causing water and ice to inundate the entrance road, boat ramp and campground.

Drouillard Fishing Access Site on the Jefferson River near Three Forks is partially closed due to similar conditions. The boat ramp and vehicle turnaround area are closed, but the rest of the site remains open.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will lift the closures when conditions allow.

Additional site closures may be in effect already or required later for other sites around the state, depending on weather and river flows. Current restrictions and closures of FWP-managed lands and waterbodies can be found here.

Recreationists are encouraged to use caution when visiting rivers because of unseen hazards, as well as flow and ice conditions that can change suddenly. For more information about river recreation safety, click here
