DILLON, MT — March 15 — The Youth Connections Mentoring Program hosted its annual Polar Dip fundraiser Sunday at Blacktail Meadows, where a small but spirited crowd gathered to take a plunge into the icy waters of the kids’ pond.
Despite the cold temperatures, several community members stepped up to support the program by jumping into the frigid water. Among those taking the plunge were members of the Dillon Jaycees, Ortho Rehab, and the University of Montana Western Bulldogs women’s basketball team.
Ortho Rehab once again brought some extra fun to the event with their creative costumes. Known for dressing up each year, the group arrived this time as a group of jellyfish, adding a splash of humor to the chilly fundraiser.

After emerging from the icy water, participants were greeted with warm cups of hot cocoa, providing a well-earned treat after their daring dives.
While the turnout was modest, the enthusiasm and community support for the Youth Connections Mentoring Program were clear. The annual Polar Dip helps raise funds to support mentorship opportunities for local youth, reinforcing the community’s commitment to helping young people build strong and positive futures.
Organizers extended their thanks to everyone who participated and supported the event, noting that every contribution helps make a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth.
