DILLON, Mont. — The streets of downtown Dillon were filled with witches, warlocks, broomsticks and plenty of Halloween spirit Friday evening as the 9th Annual Witches Brigade Ride brought another magical night to the community.

Under the Halloween night sky, witches and warlocks from throughout the Beaverhead Valley gathered at Depot Park for what has become a beloved local Halloween tradition.

This year's turnout appeared to be one of the largest yet, as word of the annual gathering continues to spread throughout the valley.

A Gathering of Witches and Warlocks

As darkness settled over downtown Dillon, witches and warlocks began arriving at Depot Park, dressed in their finest Halloween attire and ready for their annual flight through town.

The evening began with the gathering of the brigade, followed by the traditional reading of the Witches' Rules and Creed.

With the formalities complete, it was time for the witches to mount their trusty steeds — or, in this case, their brooms — and prepare for takeoff.

Taking Flight Through Downtown Dillon

With a cackle at the moon and a little Halloween magic, the brigade set off through the streets of downtown Dillon.

While their broomsticks may have stayed firmly on the ground, the Halloween spirit was certainly flying high.

The costumed riders made their way through downtown, bringing smiles, laughter and a little witchy mischief to those who witnessed the annual spectacle.

For nine years, the Witches Brigade Ride has brought together community members looking to celebrate Halloween in a fun and unusual way.

And judging by this year's turnout, the tradition continues to grow.

A Halloween Tradition That Keeps Growing

What started as an annual gathering of local witches and warlocks has become a recognizable Halloween tradition in Dillon.

With more participants joining the brigade, the event continues to bring a little extra excitement to downtown each Halloween.

Whether you were part of the brigade, watched from the sidewalk or happened to catch a glimpse of the witches passing by, Friday night's ride was another reminder of the fun and creativity that make small-town celebrations special.

As the witches and warlocks returned from their annual flight, one thing was clear: the magic of Halloween is alive and well in Dillon, Montana.

And somewhere in the Beaverhead Valley, the broomsticks are already waiting for next year's ride.
