GALEN, Mont. — A 33-year-old Wise River man died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday on Interstate 90 near Galen, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:24 a.m. July 18 near mile marker 197 in Deer Lodge County.

The man was driving a Subaru Legacy west on I-90 when the vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway while negotiating a left-hand curve, the MHP crash report states.

The driver overcorrected to the left, causing the Subaru to rotate counterclockwise and slide sideways into the median. The vehicle then traveled up the eastbound side of the median, rolled and slid across the eastbound lanes.

The Subaru came to rest upright on the eastbound on-ramp at mile marker 197.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. No passengers or other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.

The crash occurred under normal road conditions. The report does not identify the driver or list alcohol, drugs or speed as suspected factors.

Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
