The Tinderbox Movie in Dillon The Tinderbox stars Mike Nance, Mike Verdon, Brin Merkley, Danny Felix, Andree O’Shea, Rob Cox, Craig LeDouceur, Kevin George, John Emeigh, Alicia Knievel-Vincent, Tabatha Bettin and Amber Rose Mason as well as dozens of other local performers.

The story is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Tinderbox” published in 1835 about a soldier who returns from war in something of a trance, kills a mouthy witch for her tinderbox, and falls in love with a beautiful princess who is locked in a tower. Updated by co-directors Elizabeth Cox and the late David Butler, the comedy film is set entirely in Butte using the City’s scenic backgrounds and beautiful Uptown locations like the Hennessey Mansion and the Clark Chateau.

With an anticipated rating of PG-13, The Tinderbox contains Butte-based and sexual humor, mild crude language and depicts drug use that may not be appropriate for young children.
