Flower symbolism has been around for ages, and many of us speak un peu du langage des fleurs… but how can you know for sure whether your wedding bouquet means “undying love” or “you repulse me”? In this talk, you’ll learn the history of the language of flowers as well as some wildflower meanings to help you translate your thoughts into blooms.

This is the eleventh presentation in Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park’s annual Friday Summer Speakers Series, which introduces a new speaker each Friday at 8 p.m. throughout the summer.

About the speaker: Emily Dickerson is an AmeriCorps member at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. As a child, she received “A Little Book of Manners” by Emilie Barnes for her 6th birthday, and thus began a lifelong interest in etiquette and culture. After receiving her bachelors degree in anthropology, she quickly found her way to Montana, where her interest in flowers truly began to bloom. After 2 years of giving wildflower walks and talks, she has decided to return to one of her favorite subjects with this prim and proper campground talk
