UMW Men’s Rodeo Takes Team Title, Women’s Team Finishes Second at Trapper Stampede #1

CODY, Wyo. – The Montana Western rodeo teams put in solid performances in their first competition of the season Saturday. The men's team took home the team title with 837 points while the women placed second with 248 points. Jake Deveraux placed second individually in the men's all around.
"We are really happy to open the season on a good note," Head Rodeo Coach JT Robbins said. "The kids really competed at a high level, and we're looking forward to the next one.
EVENTS SUMMARY
Barrel Racing
Laura Haight placed fourth in Barrels with a time of 17.64, earning 88 points.
Goat Tying
Josie Robbins and Tynell Mclnenly tied for second in goat tying, both registering 7.5 seconds and earning 116.5 points each.
Kaylee Kesl finished fifth with a time of 7.9 seconds, winning 59.5 points.

Breakaway Roping
Tori Murnion finished third in Breakaway with a 3.0-second, 107 point run. Kassidy Bremner (3.1 seconds, 88 points) placed fourth while Charlee Resch (3.5 seconds, 15 points) took home eighth.
Team Roping
Teely Bott and Bry Severe won the team roping with a time of 7.1 seconds, earning 145 points. Gavin Knutson and Luke Garrison tied for third (8.0 seconds, 97.5) and Konnor Ward and Carson Daniels took fourth (8.7 seconds, 69 points). Cooper Pavkov and Jake Deveraux finished fifth with a time of 9.6 seconds and earned 50 points.
Tie-Down Roping
Jake Deveraux took second in tie-down roping with a time of 14.5 second, winning 126 points. Cooper Pavkov finished close behind in third (15.8 seconds, 107 points) and Racin Allen placed fourth with a 15.9 second run, scoring 88 points.

Bareback Riding
Coy Montgomery took home the Bareback crown with a score of 69, earning 145 points for the Bulldogs.
Saddle Bronc Riding
Cade Costello placed first in Saddle Bronc with a 75, taking home 145 points. Cardell Laughery was tied for second with a score of 72, earning 116.5 points while Denten Skjonsberg finished fourth (51, 69 points).
