UMW Men’s Rodeo Goes Back-to Back, Takes Team Title at Trapper Stampede #2

CODY, Wyo. – The Montana Western men's rodeo team won their second team title in as many days at the Trapper Stampede #2 in Cody, Wyo. Saturday evening. On the women's side, Brooke Richey shared the all-around crown after earning 176 points.
"We're excited to end the weekend on a high note," Head Coach JT Robbins said. "The energy of the team is high, and they competed hard. We are looking forward to DCC"
EVENTS SUMMARY
Barrel Racing
Teely Bott won the Barrels event with a time of 17.38 second, earning 145 points.
Goat Tying
Josie Robbins and Brooke Richey tied for second in goat tying, both posting 7.2 second runs and scoring 116.5 points apiece.
Mackenzie Griffin finished tied for fifth in the event with a time of 7.6 seconds (41 points).
Breakaway Roping
Brooke Richey tied for fourth in Breakaway (3.0 seconds, 59.5 points) while Laura Haight placed fifth (3.2 seconds, 32 points).

Team Roping
Gavin Knutson and Luke Garrison finished fourth in Team Roping with a time of 11.9 seconds and earned 88 points.
Tavy Leno and Clay Pendergrass placed sixth at 13.4 seconds for 50 points and Taylor Burgee and Cooper Olaveson finished seventh with a time of 14.0 second, scoring 32 points.
Steer Wrestling
Tatum Hansen took home the steer wrestling crown with a 4.5-second, 145-point try.
Cooper Pavkov finished sixth (8.1 seconds, 50 points), Luke Garrison placed seventh (8.9 second, 32 points), and Teegan Arnold took eighth (13.8 seconds, 13 points).
Tie-Down Roping
Jake Deveraux finished sixth in tie-down roping with a time of 13.9 seconds, winning 50 points. Cooper Pavkov placed eighth in the event at 16.8 seconds and earned 13 points.
Bareback Riding
Coy Montgomery won the bareback event for the second day in a row with a score of 59, earning 145 points.

Saddle Bronc Riding
Cade Costello also went back-to-back, placing first in Saddle Bronc with a 76, taking home 145 points. Cardell Laughery finished fourth (71, 97.5 points)
Bull Riding
Westen Wade won the bull riding, posting an 83 for 145 points. Gavin Knutson took home second, registering a 77 for 126 points.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs are back in action next weekend when they compete at Dawson Community College Sept. 12-13.
