UMW Fine Arts To Host Choral Concert & Vaudeville Show
Montana Western’s Fine Arts Department presents the “Cantabileers” on April 26 and “The Knickerbockers’ Theater of Titillation and Talent” on May 4.
The University of Montana Western’s Cantabileers, a select choral group, will perform Tuesday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Beier Auditorium. Admission to the concert is free.
This small group has worked all semester to put together a fun and dynamic program to share with the community. As always, students have had the leadership roles every step of the way. They have chosen some interesting pieces, including familiar songs from well-known musicals as well as songs that will be new to most. Students have volunteered to conduct, and they collectively decided who sings the solos in the ensemble pieces. Additionally, several have chosen songs that they find particularly interesting or meaningful to sing as solos or duets.
Susie Steadman accompanies the group on the piano. For more information, please contact the group’s director, Dr. Debbie Seacrest, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The University of Montana Western’s “The Knickerbockers’ Theater of Titillation and Talent” will offer a public demonstration of eight uproarious acts of vaudevillian spectacle for one time only on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the University’s Small Auditorium located on the third floor of Main Hall.
Marvel at “The Fantastic Flame-O” as he performs his astonishing Song of Fire! Gasp at the twisted take of “The Headmaster”. Roll in laughter at the classic antics of “Box and Cox” and get an exclusive view of a brand-new act, “How Tough am I?” that will be performed once and never again. These and four more super acts will be presented in this once-in-a-lifetime show. Doors will open at 12:45 p.m. and admission is free.
