On 3/28/2023 at 0713 hours, The Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office, Dillon Police Department, and Montana Highway Patrol responded to a Sheriff’s vehicle crash on Ten Mile Road. Undersheriff Haggard was going East on Ten Mile Road and came around a blind corner where there were several vehicles stuck in the middle of the road. The road was covered in ice making it difficult for cars to travel. Undersheriff Haggard put his patrol rig into the bank to avoid hitting several pedestrians who were also standing on the road. The patrol vehicle flipped onto its side causing extensive damage to the vehicle. Undersheriff Haggard was banged up a little but not injured. Ten Mile road was closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared. Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
