Rob Goode Accepts Position at Loras College

UMW Press Release:

Bulldog Defensive Coordinator Rob Goode has accepted a position with Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. The move for Goode, a Durand, Ill. native and who played his college football at Rockford college, will allow him to be closer to his family.

A staple for the football program the last decade, Goode helped the 2021 team clinch a share of the Frontier Conference Championship and reach the NAIA playoffs for the first time in 19 years. During his tenure he coached 14 Frontier Conference First-Team recipients, 11 Frontier Conference Second-Team All-Conference recipients, and three Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year recipients.

Several Bulldogs under Goode's leadership earned national recognition as well, including two Cliff Harris Award finalists, two NAIA All-American First Team-recipients, 2 AP NAIA All-American First-Team recipients, AFCA-NAIA All-American Second Team recipient, and three AFCA-NAIA All-American First-Team recipients.

An announcement on Goode's replacement will be made within the next few days.

Rob Goode Statement:

"I'd like to thank Coach Nourse and Coach Robertson for affording me the opportunity to be a part of the Dawg family these last 10 years. The Western community, the people of Dillon, and our athletes' families are one of a kind and I cannot thank them enough for their unwavering support and friendship. The players past and present made my experience one that I will be forever grateful for. Their enthusiasm, persistence, and love for one another are what make the Dawg family more than just a slogan. Thank you, Dawg family and Go Dawgs."

Coach Ryan Nourse Statement:

"Rob Goode was an integral part of building our football program into one of the top 20 programs in the country. His work ethic, commitment, and selfless dedication to Montana Western, Bulldog Football, and all the players he coached and trained are appreciated and respected by everyone close to our program."
