On Monday April 24, 2023, at 8:08PM Dillon Police Officers Eric Pedersen and Joshua Aguirre responded to packages being stolen off a resident's porch. The homeowner had video footage of the suspect who took the packages.
Officers were able to identify the suspects' vehicle, today on April 25, 2023, Officer Pedersen and Officer Aguirre were able to return the packages to the homeowner. A citation for theft was issued to the suspect.
Dillon Police wants to remind everyone to watch out for each other and your neighbors. Here are some tips to keep you packages safe:
-Have your package delivered to your work.
-Have your package delivered to the home of a relative or friend that you know will be home.
-Have your package held at your local post office for pickup.
-Amazon offers a “locker” feature that allows you to pick up your package from a secure location.
-Request that your package has signature confirmation upon delivery.
-Ask your carrier to place package in an area out of plain view.
-Install a doorbell camera.
