Lima Fire Assists With Train Fire In Clark County, Idaho

LIMA — Lima Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request early Sunday morning, Dec. 1, after a train caught fire in Clark County, Idaho.


Lima Fire was dispatched at approximately 6:20 a.m. to assist Clark County Fire crews at the scene, located about two miles north of Humphrey. Upon arrival, firefighters found an engine fire on the train.


Crews from Lima Fire and Clark County Fire worked quickly to extinguish the blaze, preventing the fire from spreading to additional engines. Authorities say the fire was caused by a major malfunction in the diesel motor.

After the fire was extinguished and the scene was secured, crews cleared the area and the train was able to continue north.


No injuries were reported.
