Jackson Hot Springs Shooter Facing 20 Felonies

On 10/22/22 Jimmie “Luke” Snaric, age 34, from Cascade, Montana was arrested after being involved in what was reported as an active shooter at the Jackson Hot Springs Lodge in Jackson, MT. Snaric is alleged to have discharged a firearm into the Lodge, where people were sleeping and cleaning up the bar from a physical fight which Snaric started. Snaric was asked to leave the bar. He returned to his cabin, gathered a firearm, and returned to shoot aimlessly into the Lodge and the surrounding area. Snaric forced his way into two occupied cabins while in possession of his pistol. Snaric continued shooting aimlessly and wandering around the area carrying his pistol until he was apprehended by Law Enforcement.


Snaric was arrested and charged with the following:

15 Counts of 45-5-213MCA Assault with a Weapon, 2 Counts of 45-6-204MCA Aggravated Burglary, 2 Counts of 45-5-207MCA Criminal Endangerment, and 1 Count of 45-6-101MCA Criminal Mischief (Damage exceeding $1,500).


In total Snaric is alleged to have committed 20 Felony charges during this incident. He had his initial appearance in Justice Court today (10/24). No plea was entered as felonies must be adjudicated in District Court. His bond was set at $250,000. He is awaiting his initial appearance in District Court.
