Fitzgerald, Stephensen Picked To Preseason All-Conference Team

The Frontier Conference released the 2022-23 Men's and Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference teams early this afternoon. Bulldog Women's Basketball senior Brynley Fitzgerald was named as the women's basketball coaches' choice to share the Frontier Conference 2022-23 Preseason Women's Basketball Players of the Year honor along with Carroll College senior Jamie Pickens.

Last season, Fitzgerald started in all 25 games last season, was her team's leading scorer as she averaged 18 points per game. She totaled 451 points on the season, was second in the conference with points per game, fifth for rebounds per game with 6.9, tallied 173 total rebounds on the season, and shot 44.6 percent from the field.

"Brynley is extremely competitive and that competitiveness should lead our group. She has improved a different aspect of her game every summer and expect this year to be no different." Coach Lindsay Woolley said.

On the men's side, Jamal Stephenson was selected to the Frontier Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team. Jamal played in 28 games and started in 23. He averaged 16.6 points per game with a total of 345 points on the season. He shot 36% from the three-point line with a total of 54 three-pointers made on the season. He led the conference with an 87.0% free throw percentage and was a three-time backcountry player of the game.

"Jamal had a really strong showing his junior year and has come back with a very solid mindset. He has the ability to lead this team every night and I think we will see that this year." Coach Mike Larsen said.
