Firefighters were called out to I-15 near Mile Marker 49 for a fire near the highway. The call came in around 3:30 pm Sunday afternoon. The fire had spread to approximately 3 acres before they extinguished it around 6 pm the same day.
As of now they do not know the cause of the fire, though they did find pieces of tire near its starting point. This is a reminder with our wet spring and early summer that the grass is tall and drying out fast, making for perfect fire conditions.
