Evacuations Lifted for Moose Creek, Sugarloaf Hill

BEAVERHEAD COUNTY, Mont. — Evacuation restrictions for the Moose Creek and Sugarloaf Hill areas near the Bobcat Lakes Fire will be lifted Tuesday, according to the Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office.
Residents who were evacuated may return to their properties beginning Aug. 18.
Jerked Prairie will remain under “SET” status. Residents in that area should be prepared to evacuate if fire conditions worsen or officials issue additional instructions.

Scenic Byway Remains Closed
The Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway remains closed. Motorists should not attempt to enter or travel through the closed area.
Law enforcement and fire personnel are expected to maintain a strong presence for the next several weeks to protect residents and emergency responders.
Returning residents should use caution, remain alert for changing conditions and watch for firefighters, emergency vehicles and heavy equipment.
