Driver Escapes Injury After Ford Bronco Leaves Big Sheep Creek Road and Lands in Creek

DILLON, Mont. — A driver escaped injury Tuesday afternoon after a Ford Bronco left the roadway and came to rest in Big Sheep Creek approximately 11 miles up Big Sheep Creek Road southwest of Dillon.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:30 p.m.

According to information from the scene, the Ford Bronco was traveling along Big Sheep Creek Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle slid off the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and came to rest in the creek below.

The Bronco did not roll over, and the driver was not injured in the crash.

Deputies with the Beaverhead County Sheriff's Office and troopers from the Montana Highway Patrol responded to investigate the incident.

The cause of the crash has not been released, and no citations or additional information were immediately available.

Motorists traveling on rural mountain roads are reminded to use caution, particularly on winding stretches where curves, loose gravel, and changing road conditions can increase the risk of leaving the roadway.
