Dingley Section Wildfire Evacuation Status Downgraded From GO to SET

BEAVERHEAD COUNTY, Mont. — Evacuation status for the Dingley Section has been downgraded from GO to SET, but officials are reminding the public that the area remains closed due to ongoing wildfire activity and safety concerns.

The byway and surrounding forest remain closed to the public, with the U.S. Forest Service maintaining a closure for the affected area.

Although the evacuation status has been lowered, residents in and around the Dingley Section are being urged to remain prepared. Wildfire conditions can change rapidly, and evacuation orders could be reinstated if conditions worsen.

Under SET status, residents should remain ready to evacuate and continue monitoring information from fire and law enforcement officials.

Officials are also strongly warning the public not to enter the closed area or travel on the byway. A large law enforcement presence remains in the area, and officials say civilians who enter the closure area could face criminal charges.

The Beaverhead County Sheriff's Office and fire personnel will continue monitoring wildfire conditions and provide additional updates as information becomes available.

Public Reminded to Stay Out of Closure Area

Members of the public should follow all posted closure orders and instructions from firefighters and law enforcement personnel. The closure remains in place for public safety despite the change in evacuation status.
