DILLON, MT – The Dillon Ice Rink celebrated its second annual Rink Plink on Saturday, February 1st, hosting a fun-filled event that serves as a fundraiser for the ice rink.

Participants of all ages took part in a unique skate and plink course, divided into various skill levels: children, beginners, intermediates, and experts. Each contestant completed three laps around the ice, taking shots at two targets after each lap. The first target, placed closer to the skaters, allowed them to avoid penalties; hitting it meant no time was added, while missing resulted in a three-second penalty. The second target was located about twenty yards away, and hitting it deducted three seconds from their total time. In a twist for the expert class, participants had to take two shots at each turn.

In addition to the skating competition, the ice rink offered a chili feed to raise additional funds, along with team curling events that brought even more excitement to the day. Following the competitions, the Beaverhead Brewing Company hosted a fundraising Pint Night, which included a raffle and awards for competitors.

The event not only showcased local talent but also strengthened community involvement, helping to ensure the continued operation and enjoyment of the Dillon Ice Rink.
