Dillon Cubs Sweep Helena Reps Doubleheader at Ray Lynch Park with 8-5 and 9-6 Victories (Photo Gallery)

DILLON, Mont. — The Dillon Cubs bounced back in impressive fashion Sunday, sweeping an American Legion Baseball doubleheader against the Helena Reps 2026 at Ray Lynch Park in Dillon. The Cubs claimed an 8-5 victory in the opener before rallying for a 9-6 win in Game 2 to complete the sweep.

Dillon's offense combined for 17 runs and 20 hits across the two games, while timely pitching and key defensive plays helped secure both victories.

Mills, Tackett Lead Cubs to 8-5 Win in Game 1

The Cubs struck first in the bottom of the second inning when Parker Mills launched a solo home run over the left-field fence to give Dillon an early 1-0 lead.

Dillon broke the game open in the third inning, scoring four runs. RBI singles from Andrew Bartlome and Mills highlighted the rally as the Cubs built a comfortable advantage.

The Cubs added insurance in the sixth inning with another offensive burst. Kanin Engelhardt delivered an RBI single before Sawyer Tackett crushed a two-run home run to left field, extending Dillon's lead to 8-5.

Tackett earned the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and two unearned runs over five innings while striking out four without issuing a walk.

Trenton Moreni closed the door to earn the save.

Dillon collected 10 hits in the opener.

Mills finished 2-for-3 and drove in a game-high three RBIs, while Engelhardt and Tackett also recorded two hits apiece.

For Helena, Louie Cetraro drove in one run, while Judah Evans, Nolan Collins, Cole Beaver and Cetraro each recorded a hit.

Cubs Rally Past Helena for Doubleheader Sweep

Game two featured another comeback by the Cubs.

Dillon jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after Cooper Clarke ripped an RBI double down the left-field line, Trenton Moreni added an RBI groundout, and Parker Mills followed with an RBI single.

Helena answered with a five-run second inning to grab a 5-3 advantage, taking advantage of defensive miscues despite recording just one hit in the frame.

The Cubs stayed within striking distance before reclaiming the lead in the fifth inning.

A sacrifice fly by Landon Lovaas, a Helena error, and an RBI single from Cooper Clarke sparked a three-run rally that put Dillon back in front for good.

Lovaas picked up the victory in relief after throwing 5⅓ innings, allowing just one unearned run on five hits while striking out two and issuing no walks.

Starter Chase Clarke battled through the early innings before turning the game over to the bullpen.

The Cubs once again totaled 10 hits, with Kanin Engelhardt and Parker Mills each collecting three hits, while Cooper Clarke finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Ben Peacock added speed on the bases, stealing two bags, and Dillon turned a double play defensively.

Helena was led offensively by Cole Beaver and Colt LaFromboise, who each collected two hits. Beaver also drove in one run.

Engelhardt and Mills Pace Dillon Offense

Across both games, the Cubs received outstanding production from the top of the lineup.

• Parker Mills: 5-for-6, home run, 4 RBIs.

• Sawyer Tackett: Home run, 2 RBIs, winning pitcher in Game 1.

• Cooper Clarke: 3 hits and 3 RBIs in Game 2.

The sweep gives the Dillon Cubs valuable momentum as they continue the American Legion Baseball season with another strong showing at Ray Lynch Park in front of the home crowd.
