Dillon City Court Issues new Guidelines for Dealing with COVID-19




Dillon City Court has new guidelines for dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak.

Effective Immediately


  1. All parties ordered by the Dillon City Court to report for chemical dependency testing through Beaverhead County Sheriff's Department 24/7 Program are released from their obligation to do so until further notice. The court will determine on a case by case basis whether alternate testing means will be implemented. Parties Affected by this change shall contact the court for further updates.

  2. All appearances for hearings, compliance checks, or inquires of the court must be conducted by telephone or internet meeting. The Clerk of Dillon City Court will send internet meeting invitations to individuals by email. It is the responsibility of the parties to provide the Clerk of Dillon City Court with an updated telephone number and email address.

  3. All criminal jury trials scheduled to appear before May 4, 2020 will be continued for thirty days. All deadlines in the previous Trial Schedule Orders are continued for thirty days. Defendants and their attorney's are encouraged to waive speedy trial and stipulate to continuances. Defendants may file a request for an expedited trial to be held as soon as the court resumes normal operations criminal jury trials will not be vacated at this time but will be vacated as the trial date approaches and a resolution has not been reached by the parties.

  4. Criminal bench trials will not be vacated at this time but will be vacated as the trial date approaches and a resolution has not been reached by the parties. Defendants and their attorneys are encouraged to waive speedy trial and stipulate to continuances. Defendants may file a request for an expedited trial to be held as soon as the court resumes normal operations.

  5. All payments on fines and surcharges are encourage to be made online by visiting www.citepayusa.com entering in your case number or citation number, and following the online instructions. The Clerk of Dillon City Court will send individualized payment instructions to requesting parties by email.

  6. All cash and check payments to Dillon City Court may be made by filling out a payment envelope, sealing the envelope, and placing the envelope in the locked deposit box located on the door at the Dillon City Court at 31 E. Center St.
