Cubs Lose Double Header To Butte Miners

The Dillon Cubs took on the Butte Miners on Sunday, June 5th in a double header game at Ray Lynch Park. The Cubs have struggled this year as a large portion of the team are younger and a little less experienced.

The day started off with a ceremony to pay tribute to Gail Whitworth, a former Dillon Cubs manager Gail Whitworth. Whitworth was the cubs manager from 1982 to 2000 and had hundreds of wins with the Cubs. This game all players wore a number 9 jersey in honor of him. They also handed out awards in his name. The Bring It Home Award winner Connor Vezina

Futures Award went to Brandt Nelson, Brandt received a plaque as well as a gift certificate to purchase a bat.
