Closures Lifted for Polaris and Elkhorn Areas; Scenic Byway Remains Closed

BEAVERHEAD COUNTY, Mont. — Closures affecting the Polaris and Elkhorn areas have been lifted, according to the Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office.
All areas affected by the local closures have reopened except the Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway.
The Scenic Byway will remain closed while crews remove burned, damaged and falling trees that could pose a danger to travelers.

The Sheriff’s Office stressed that the road will remain closed until further notice while crews address potential hazards.
Members of the public should not attempt to travel on the Scenic Byway while the closure remains in effect. Additional information will be released when the route can safely reopen.
