Bulldogs Drop First Game Of The New Year to Argos, 57-68

The Montana Western Bulldogs (10-4, 1-2) fell to the Providence Argos (15-3, 2-1) in the first Frontier Conference game of 2022, 57-68.


The Argos led the Bulldogs for over 90 percent of the game. In the first quarter, the Bulldogs only put nine points on the scoreboard; the Argos tallied 16. Montana Western played well in the second quarter, scoring 8-11 from the field, which left them down 26-30 at the half.

The two teams matched points with 19 each during the third. The Bulldogs came within one of the Argos with 5:45 left to play, 50-51, but two 3-pointers and four layups between Providence's Brooklyn Harn and Parker Esary left the unable to recover.



"We weren't hitting the shots we usually hit," assistant coach Tori Anderson said. "Providence did good with pressure and defended our offense really well."

Inside the Box Score the Bulldogs shot 24 percent from the arc. The Argos outrebounded the Bulldogs 36-26. Brynley Fitzgerald tallied 19 points for the Bulldogs. Montana Western's Mesa King grabbed nine rebounds. Shainy Mack led the Bulldogs in assists and steals, with three and four, respectively.
