Bulldog Rodeo Starts Season Strong In Cody

UMW Sports Press Release:

The Montana Western rodeo team started the 2022 fall season with a bang as both the men's and women's teams grabbed a first-place win in Cody, Wyo. this weekend. The men's team took the all-around on Friday evening and the women's team took the all-around last night. Harley Beasley won the women's all-around title Saturday night.



"It was a good weekend and we had some really high spots. We know where we need to work harder and it is going to be a fun year." coach JT Robbins said.


Top Performers Rodeo #1

Men's team won the overall title of the night.

Brett Bartholomew won the tie-down roping with a time of 10.9.

Braleigh Garrett won the goat tying with a time of 8 seconds.

Jhet Murphy and Ty Christiansen won the team-roping with an 8.3.

Mikayla Witter three-way tied for first in breakaway roping with a 3.0.

Trevor Kay was second in bareback with a score of 67.

Krista Marchand took third with partner from MSU-N with time of 10.4.

Luke Murphy was fourth in tie-down roping with a time of 13.1.

Madalyn Foster and Jackie Sceirine took fourth in team-roping with a 11.8 time.



Top Performers Rodeo #2

Harley Beasley won the women's all-around buckle for the evening.

Trevor Kay recorded an 82-point ride in bareback to win the event.

Tavy Leno won the goat tying event with a time of 8.5.

Krista Marchand took second in barrel racing with a time of 18.09.

Hannah Haverland took third in breakaway roping with a time of 3.4.

Jhet Murphy took third in steer wrestling with a time of 4.7.

Harley Beasley and Knute Hereim took fourth in team roping with a time of 9.1.

Garrett Yeager took fifth in steer wrestling with a time of 6.6.



Up next

The Bulldogs will be heading to Dawson Community College next weekend in Glendive, Mont. to compete in the two day event.
