Black Mountain Fire Estimated At 150 Acres

The Black Mountain Fire is located approximately 21 miles east of Salmon, ID on the Montana side. They have a type 3 Incident Management Team immobilizing resources to help fight this fire.

The fire is in dead and downed timber with some brush and grass as fuels. Making it difficult to get to. The fire currently has a Type 6 Engine crew working with the Dillon District.

On Sunday forest service workers traveled to North and South Van Houten Campgrounds, Reservoir Lake Campground and Bloody Dick Cabin to give early warning of this closure to campers in those areas.
