Beaverhead County Varsity Beavers Come From Behind To Defeat Lone Peak Big Horns, 10-9 (Photo Gallery)

DILLON, MT – The Beaverhead County Varsity Beavers overcame a five-run deficit to edge out the Lone Peak Varsity Big Horns with a thrilling 10-9 victory on Tuesday.
Sawyer Tackett was a standout performer for the Beavers, collecting three hits in three at-bats, including a pivotal triple in the sixth inning. Tackett also singled in the first and third innings, playing a crucial role in the team’s comeback.
The game began with the Beavers scoring first in the opening inning when a wild pitch allowed a runner to cross home plate. However, the Lone Peak Big Horns quickly flipped the momentum in the top of the second inning, scoring six runs on just two hits to take a commanding 6-1 lead. The highlight of the inning came from Ebe Grabow, whose double drove in two runs.
The Beaverhead County Varsity Beavers began their comeback in the bottom of the fourth. Jase Alvarez singled to score one run, followed by Logan Fox, who singled and brought in two runs. Tackett added to the scoring with a sacrifice fly, contributing another run to put the Beavers back in the game.

An error committed by the Beavers in the top of the sixth allowed Lone Peak to tie the game at seven. However, the Beavers responded decisively, capturing the lead at 10-7 in the bottom of the sixth. After Kanin Englehardt grounded out, Tackett tripled to center field, and Cohen Hartman singled down the right field line, each scoring a run.
Fox earned the win for the Beavers, pitching four and one-third innings, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out two batters. Sidney Morris took the loss for the Lone Peak Big Horns, giving up seven runs (four earned) on six hits over four innings, with three strikeouts and two walks. Trenton Moreni opened the game for Beaverhead County, allowing two hits and six runs (four earned) over one inning.
The Beavers totaled 10 hits during the game, with Tackett and Moreni each driving in two runs. Alvarez contributed with two hits in three at-bats, while Andrew Bartlome stole three bases, highlighting the team’s aggressive base running strategy, which resulted in a total of five stolen bases and two double plays.

The Lone Peak Varsity Big Horns saw contributions from Jack Laxson, Eli Gale, Brady Johnson, and Grabow, each collecting one hit. Grabow and Morris were particularly effective in the lineup, driving in two runs each.
The Beaverhead County Varsity Beavers will look to build on this momentum as they play at home on Thursday against the Butte Central Catholic Varsity Maroons in their next matchup.
