The Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office will soon add two new Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicles to its fleet, thanks to grant funding made possible in part by U.S. Representative Ryan Zinke. The funding is part of a $1 million allocation distributed across Montana to support law enforcement agencies.
According to Sheriff Wendt, the grant will specifically fund the purchase of two Tahoe units that will be fully equipped for use by the department’s K9 program.

The Sheriff’s Office launched its K9 unit just a few years ago, and since then, the dogs have become a valuable asset in assisting deputies with a variety of law enforcement operations. Officials say the addition of these new, properly outfitted vehicles will further strengthen the program and enhance public safety efforts throughout Beaverhead County.
