Beaverhead County Beavers Blow Past Broadwater Bulldogs, 16-1 (Photo Gallery)

DILLON, MT – Kanin Engelhardt drove in four runs on two hits, leading the Beaverhead County Beavers past the Broadwater Varsity Bulldogs with a decisive 16-1 victory on Friday.
The Beavers took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Trenton Moreni was struck by a pitch, driving in the first run, followed by Marcus Lagunas, who drew a walk, and Engelhardt’s single that brought in two more runs. Colby Garland then doubled, adding two additional runs to make it 5-0.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Beavers exploded offensively, scoring eight runs on seven hits. An error allowed one run to score, and Cohen Hartman was hit by a pitch to drive in another run. Engelhardt continued his strong performance with another single, scoring two runs, while Garland doubled again, scoring one run. Sawyer Tackett drew a walk to bring one more run across, and Andrew Bartlome followed with a double that added another run. Moreni capped off the inning with a double, scoring the final run of the frame.

Andrew Bartlome earned the win for the Beavers, surrendering just one hit and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking two. Beau Sumner took the loss for the Bulldogs, pitching one and one-third innings and allowing 12 runs (nine earned) on seven hits, with one strikeout and three walks.
The Beavers collected a total of 10 hits in the game, with Bartlome, Engelhardt, and Garland each contributing two hits. Both Bartlome and Moreni stole multiple bases, showcasing the Beavers' aggressive base running strategy, which resulted in a total of seven stolen bases for the game. The team remained solid defensively, committing no errors, with Garland recording the most chances in the field with four.
Keaton Boylan led the Broadwater Bulldogs with one hit in two at-bats.
The Beaverhead County Beavers will look to continue their success as they prepare to face the Frenchtown Varsity Broncs on Saturday.
