Baseley, Harrison, Ramirez Qualify For NAIA National Championship Meet

The 36 team, 78 individuals in the men's race and 80 individuals in the women's 5k race have been announced for the 2022 NAIA Men's and Women's Cross-Country National Championship that will be held on November 18 in Tallahassee, Fla. There are three individuals from Montana Western that have qualified who will represent the Bulldogs in Florida. This is the first year that the championship will be hosted in Tallahassee, Fla. The course will be located at the Apalachee Regional Park.



Araceli Ramirez and Morgan Baseley will be representing the women's cross-country team at the national meet. Araceli Ramirez placed sixth overall at the Frontier Conference Meet with a time of 19:43.2 and solidifying her All-Conference honors. This season, Ramirez led the Bulldogs at the Tony Banovich Invitational and placed fifth overall with a time of 19:47.2. She also placed 79th overall in the highly competitive Great Lakes Invitational with a time of 19:28.40. In September, Ramirez placed 19th at the Conference Preview Meet and finished up 50th overall at the MSU Cross Country Classic.


Morgan Baseley placed eighth overall at the Frontier Conference Meet with a time of 20:01.9. She also earned All-Conference honors at the race for the Bulldogs. Baseley placed sixth at the Tony Banovich Invitational earlier this season with a time of 19:48.0 and placed 56th at the Great Lakes Invitational with a time of 19:11.4. Back in September, Baseley placed seventh at the Frontier Conference Preview Meet and 54th at the MSU Cross Country Classic.



Jonathan Harrison will be representing the men's cross-country team at the national meet. Jonathan placed second overall at the Frontier Conference Meet with a time of 25:40.2, earning himself All-Conference honors. He also broke the school record in the 8k after he placed 19th at the Great Lakes Invitational, running it in a time of 25:04.0. At the Tony Banovich Invitational, Harrison ran the 8k in a time of 25:44.5 and placed second overall. Back in September, Harrison placed fourth overall at the Conference Preview Meet and 45th overall at the MSU Cross Country Classic.


The race will be held on Nov. 18 in Tallahassee, Fla. The men's 8k will start at 6:30AM MST and the women's 5k will be ran at 7:30AM MST. The race will be broadcast this year on the NAIA Network. To access the live video stream and purchase a pass CLICK HERE.
