Starting Monday, Oct. 16, the park will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The visitor center will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bannack will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25. Summer hours will resume on April 13.

Clark’s Lookout State Park will close for the season on Nov. 1 and will reopen on April 1.

About 20 miles west of Dillon, Bannack State Park is a National Historic Landmark and the site of Montana’s first major gold discovery in 1862. More than 50 historic buildings still line Bannack’s Main Street. Learn more at fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/bannack or call 406-834-3413.
