14th Annual Big Hole Valley Skijoring (Full Gallery & Video)

Saturday February 24th and Sunday the 25th the Wisdom Airport was the place to be as the 14th annual Big Valley Skijoring was held.

Racers competed in a 900ft course that consisted of jumps, turns, and catching a ring as they are pulled behind a horse. Besides focusing on these obstacles, the skier also must make sure they have the proper amount of slack on the rope to help turn and navigate the course.

Racers and spectators also took part in a Calcutta held Saturday night at Fetty’s and on Sunday the awards ceremony was held at Fetty’s.

The skijoring event is a fundraiser that helps with the BHVA Veterans and Horses event as well as other community efforts. A full list of participants and placings can be found below.
