Neither smoky skies or high winds could stop the UMW Bulldogs Saturday as they took on MSU-Northern at Vigilante field. Western came out to play and showed that early on with a 28-0 halftime lead. MSU came back after halftime to put 28 points on the board but could not catch up with Western as they finished the game 42-28.
Bulldogs Colton McPhee ran for 160 yards and a score, while Nate Simkins tied a school record with 3 receiving TDs.
