Have you driven or walked by Jaycee park and noticed the red figures strewn about?
The Montana Silent Witness Initiative was established in 1999, with a goal to eliminate murder and domestic violence in Montana. Currently they have 120 figures made of plywood that represent Montana women who were murdered by a domestic partner since 1990.
The display travels around the state of Montana and is available to any group or organization who is interested in presenting it in a public program designed to address anti-domestic violence.
The Community Support Center has the display going on till Friday, October 8th. Each figure has the name and story of the victim. The community Support Center has a Facebook Event set up in which they ask you to take a stroll through the display, check in, and share your experience.
