Fish And Wildlife Commission To Meet February 4

The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet Feb. 4 in person at the State Capitol in room 317. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a commission work session at 1:30 on Feb. 3.



The meetings will be streamed live on the FWP website and broadcast through MPAN, YouTube, and Zoom. During the Feb. 3 work session, the commission will review season proposals due to be presented on Feb. 4 during their business meeting. The work session will also be streamed live on the FWP website. During the Feb 4. business meeting, the commission will take public comment on agenda items in person and via Zoom. To make a comment via Zoom, you must register on the FWP website by noon on Feb. 3. The public will also be able to comment in person at the meeting or at any FWP regional office.



The commission will make final decisions on the following at their Feb 4 meeting:

  • Church Slough Petition

  • Comprehensive update of Licensing Administrative Rules

  • Future Fisheries Improvement Program winter 2022 funding cycle

  • Rock Creek water lease renewal

  • 2022–2023 Deer-Elk-Antelope hunting regulations, season structures, and hunting district boundaries

  • 2022–2023 Moose-Sheep-Goat hunting regulations, season structures, and hunting district boundaries

  • 2022–2023 Black bear hound hunting regulations and season structures

  • 2022–2023 Black bear mandatory harvest reporting requirements

  • 2022–2023 Black bear hunting regulations, season structures, and hunting district boundaries

  • 2022–2023 Mountain lion hunting regulations, season structures, and hunting district boundaries

  • 2022–2023 Upland Game Bird, Turkey, and Migratory Bird hunting regulations, season structures, and hunting district boundaries

  • 2022–2023 Bison hunting regulations, season structures, and hunting district boundaries

  • 2022–2023 Game damage, management season, wildlife health, urban wildlife quota authorizations

  • 2022–2023 Biennial quota ranges

  • 2022–2023 Hunting season dates

  • Grizzly Bear Relocation Sites R1-5

  • WMA public use rules

  • 2022–2023 Hunting season dates

  • 2022–2023 Biennial quota ranges



The commission will hear the following proposals:

  • Peregrine take

The commission will also look at endorsing:

  • Lower Yellowstone River Corridor Cracker Box Site Acquisition

  • Lower Yellowstone River Corridor Wildcat Bend Site Acquisition
