Bomb Threat Called On Sportsman's Banquet (Updated)

The Frontier Events Center was host tonight to the Montana Trappers Association Sportsperson's Banquet. The night was cut short do to a bomb threat. The threat was called in from a unknown individual. The police have cleared out the events center and have began searching for any explosives. We will have more information as it becomes available.

On May 8, 2021 at approximately 7:35 PM the Dillon Police Department was contacted and advised a bomb had been placed at the Frontier Event Center located at 102 E. Helena street. The event center was hosting a Fur Trappers Association banquet at the time of the call.


Officers, Deputies, Fire Fighters, MHP officers, and Department of Emergency Services personal all responded to the scene. The event center was evacuated and a cursory search was done of the building. A K9 bomb unit from the MHP responded and cleared the building.


The Dillon Police Department, with the assistance of the FBI is conducting the investigation.


Threats of this nature will not be tolerated and the Dillon Police Department will do everything we can to investigate, and prosecute offenders. These investigations are difficult, lengthy and detailed. I would ask for the publics patience as the investigation continues.
